Households provide food if you’re a zombie or serial killer (and cannibal).
Comment on Meat plants use more water than the population of Brighton

One does provide food though, which is important. The other provides wrong answers, unnecessarily long descriptions, and acts like your mate. Let’s dig into that…

As food production becomes more and more centralized in macro farms, resource over utilization and environment saturation become a larger problem.
Because we're moving away from a large number of producers and manufacturers to a hyperconsolidated vertical food manufacturer, this will become the norm, so will price gauging.daychilde@lemmy.world 15 hours ago
Small-scale meat production would use as much water as large-scale, I can only imagine. And that’s a good thing. We don’t want to get sick from tainted meat.

Is education really that bad in Brighton?

Do we need either though? Humans survived for centuries without data centers or meat processing plants.

We did, but we ate meat for most of that time and most still do. The scale of humanity requires mechanisation of some sort. Most people won’t turn to plant based or lab grown unless they have no choice, unfortunately.

It’s only with industrialisation that people started eating meat with every meal, and as the article makes clear, that level of production requires a lot of resources. We need to find a more sustainable way to feed people.
