slaacaa@lemmy.world 6 days agoIt’s like if a well loved fancy restuarant served you 6 amazing courses, then gave you a shit sandwich for dessert. It doesn’t matter how good the other courses were, you’d complain and tell everybody to avoid the place.
It’s exactly the same way with TV shows. Shit ending = shit show

I used to dance and one of my teachers, in a situation where we had to improvise a little at an event that had hired us said “you need a very strong beginning and ending, people can forgive a lot in the middle.”
So the end season of a show being shit is worse than a bad season in the middle. I didn’t watch it through but that makes logical sense to me.

Yes. It’s the basis of storytelling to nail down the beginning and ending first, then major points inbetween, and then work on the rest. Ending makes or breaks a story, whatever the medium
