Trying any drugs at random at a concert without someone who’s real about dose and expectations is kind of…well, a bad idea in general.

Those 20mg gummies tend to state each gummy is 2-4 servings, at least mine do. It’s why the previous source I bought from sold her Delta-8 gummies dosed to 5mg each to make it far easier to nail an exact dose.

But, I also see absurd 600mg mixed THC (10% D-9, 90% D-8) ones that say “start by taking (quarter|half) of a gummy and wait several hours before trying any more” and like… that’s irresponsible as hell to phrase, but I think the expectation is – given them labeled “maximum strength” – is that you know what you’re good for before digging into those.

I don’t know what the happy medium here is on labeling and access, as I agree on the Everclear thing, but you do have to go into a store for that at least. And, to be fair, Everclear tastes like such ass even mixed with anything it has to be diluted down to like, wine strength to be drinkable generally from what I’ve seen, or at least cocktail strength.

I mean, just for absolute starters, I think giving THC the same regulatory treatment as alcohol and cigarettes makes sense. Even past that, regulatory limits on per-unit dosage and warning labels on packages that aren’t 2-pt-font and maybe even a nurse or pharmacist on hand at point of distribution to give you someone with more experience to talk to would be a vast improvement.

One experience I had in college that stuck with me was that, as someone gets drunker, their ability to self-regulate alcohol intake disintegrates. This is to the point that some of my friends who are 100 lbs skinnier than me were going shot for shot by the end of the night. And that always ended in disaster.

The fact that Everclear tastes like ass doesn’t dissuade someone who is already 3+ drinks in. Especially if they’re just pounding them.

  I want weed gummy vending machines on every corner, basically they should be in my line of sight at all times.
  
  At the same time, I want that product to be tightly regulated and batch-tested for contaminants. The dose in each serving should be low low - I’m talking 1mg in each “piece”. That way you can accurately dose as much as you want with 1mg precision, not just nibble and hope you didn’t overdo it. Each package needs to include essential info that’s easy for a beginner to read and understand.
  
  These are very compatible opinions. Most drug users are not wild outcasts who need to gobble up the highest dose. Those people exist somewhere but they’re an extreme minority. We want to get high - maybe even truly zooted. We also want to stay safe and have a good time. Highly-concentrated products don’t do any favors.
