except that is literally what Ford did to Nixon, and pardons aren’t a thing for impeachment anyway (for US federal offenses)

I do think you have to admit to the crime tho. I could be wrong but accepting a pardon means you agree you were guilty I believe.

Interesting. So you don’t have to admit it but if you accept the pardon you are essentially guilty.
“implicit admission of guilt” it says.
I would assume that means that media could say you are guilty and you couldn’t sue them for slander. Like you don’t have to say you are guilty but you cant claim you are innocent… well you can claim anything I guess but yeah people could safely call you guilty at that point.
