Its almost as if its just another thing for assholes to feel elitist about.
Comment on I'm right and the other vegans are wrong

No matter how hard you try, in this industrialized world, some animal has been harmed by your activities. So, is true veganism even possible, in a practical rather than philosophical sense?

Yes, it makes a huge difference. Animal agriculture is one of the most environmentally destructive things we are doing.

if being vegan made a difference this might be true.

If that were true, there wouldn’t be an industry for plant-based foods. Vegan activists also drive real change, like exposing abuses, getting facilities shut down, and even driving legislation for better protections for animals.
It only seems like it makes no difference now because something like 95-98% of people globally still consume animal products, but throughout the course of veganism as a social movement, the percentage of vegans has grown.
The overton window just hasn’t moved enough yet. But it’s going to have to, because industrial animal agriculture is sheer madness and utterly unsustainable.

Yes, it is. “Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.”
