  English is a wreck of three other languages but at least we escaped gendered nouns and adjectives. That’s got to be the most pointless language feature of all time.

      Not really, even that has almost completely fallen out of use. Everything except people and anthropomorphized animals like pets are ‘it’; nobody’s going around calling ships and newspapers ‘she’ anymore except people holding on to extremely quaint historical oddity.
