Try looking at legally required ingredient and nutritional labels on food and you’re in for a shock, light grey on white, yellow on white, label across a square corner, it’s clearly intentional and nobody seems to care.

Amazingly, the us actually has decent nutrition labels that are white background with black text and very clearly formatted

Expiration dates however, are another matter. If/when you can find them on packaging, they’re often unreadable/worn off/too tiny to see without magnification.
I wish the Feds would force manufacturers to print the expiration date either on the white nutrition label, or directly above the UPC code — 8 pt or larger black type on white background.

On food and non-alcoholic packaged beverages, yes. Find me the nutrition facts on a bottle of whiskey.
