Comment on Why is the approach to nudity and sex in films and tv so vastly different between the US and Europe?

Why make any movie? Days of Thunder? So what? He races a car. We get it. Just play the opening credits and the end credits back to back. My Left Foot? Some people have one leg. Big deal. Why do see have to see him struggling? It’s like someone taking a dump. Just show the ball going into the net. Actually, I have PTSD about getting his with a ball. Just do the credits end to end again.

Why do we need to see things any single person could be slightly offended by? Star Wars? Come on. We all now how battles go, and, dude; like, why do see have to see oppression and poverty or extreme fascism? Those nine movies could just be a greeting card with “may the force be with you” inside.

Just because you don’t appreciate creative works doesn’t make them unworthy of expression. Nobody is forcing anyone to watch anything.

I mean it’s fair to say in some movies there’s jarring scenes that pull from the rest of the concept of the movie. IE if you are watching a rom com, and they decide to throw in a 30 minute chase scene, it’s likely to detract from rather than add to the movie. Some scenes bundle well, some scenes bore half of the audience, and would have done better as seperate things.

It’s always fair to complain about parts of a movie that you didn’t like, because the quantity of complaints on the whole either encourages the existing movie makers to shift their movies, or in the best case scenerio, encourages someone else to make a movie more focused on the things you like without the parts you don’t.
