Most probably server-side, since any of a variety of clients can be used to connect to the instance.

True. I’m a doofus. I meant I have a hard time finding it because my mobile browser interface simplifies the site. Oh well, time to actually put pants on to solve this problem.

I’m saying that the word list is probably specified by the instance admins in the settings of the instance server, and isn’t accessible to users. Lemmy.ml is known to be rather opinionated. However, I’m not familiar with the settings of a Lemmy server firsthand, so can’t say for sure.
