100%, I haven’t put in the effort yet but this is my plan too. A second bathroom for the second bedroom even better – just in case a housemate becomes necessary. An apartment won’t appreciate like the money will but the benefits of a place you own are significant too.

I’ve decided what to do with my financial windfall of some months ago. I am Apartment Hunting.
I love where I live. The area is great…but I’d love less feral neighbours. I’m also the city hub for the whole family when needed, and that would be a hell of a lot simpler with another bedroom to put them in

Family is sooo much easier to navigate with a door that can be shut when needed.

I currently have ONE bed - mine.
As and when guests appear, my current solution is “Alamut sleeps on the living room floor”. A second bedroom would be most helpful

I fully agree. This is why I moved into a 2 bedroom unit when I downsized. One room for me (not negotiable) and one for whoever with a mattress on the floor. I don’t own a big enough couch for sleeping on (unless you are a cat). Funnily enough, my sons plus girlfriends of the day suddenly stopped treating my place as a sports hotel quite as often.

TIL the term “sports hotel”
