It might not be the lightest or most discreet tool, but with a quoted 40 second cut through a 4" iron pipe, 2.5" aluminium should present no issues.

Maintenance departments commonly have one of those stashed in a cabinet somewhere nearby. They are very useful.

He cuts next to the old cut, doesn’t use the old cut to his advantage. Look at when he starts kicking the cutoff, the old cut is roughly in the middle of it.
