I’m in an IT role, similar happened. My team previously had 12 people on it, now there’s 7 with 1-2 out of office on any given day. I think I’ve gone from an average of 15-18 cases with 5-7 active at any time to around 40+ cases with 15-25 active on any given day. This means my quality of work has dropped as I no longer have time for deeper investigation of issues, and I’ve gotten to the point I really don’t care. We’re not adding back staffing and this is the status quo now.

Honestly… I’m tired of it. I was already fighting burnout in March before the cuts, and now I just don’t have the energy to care, I’m just going through the motions and taking care of my mental and physical health outside work hours. I’ll probably quit soon, and I expect it’ll be a few months at least before I go job hunting, I badly need a break.
