I think I subconsciously associate soup with bad things - like being sick, poor, etc, when in reality it really is so delicious.
Still never met a pumpkin soup I like though.

Why does the thought of soup for lunch always feel so unappealing, but then you have it and itās delicious and you wonder why you donāt have it more often?

I was never given soup when I was sick, so it canāt be that. Sick food was always dry crackers and flat lemonade.
Pumpkin soup is often pretty yucky. I donāt mind it with a reasonable amount of curry in it, or the one I had today had a lot of chicken stock to give it flavour. Pumpkin on itās own is just boring mush that is often a bit too sweet. It also had a fair few other vegetables in it, so it wasnāt just watered down pumpkin puree like a lot seem to be.
like being sick
Me too. After making so many for olā girl over the last few years Iām skipping right past it if Iām ever out at a restaurant. Shame really because some of the ones Iāve when out years ago have been amazing. If the soup has solids thatās okay but if just pureed no can do :(
My guts wants to chew something so unless it comes with a crusty bread roll itās just flavoured water to me.
iāve got some cheese & herb scrolls I made to go with it. I think they need to be a bit cheesier though, and the next batch I might add some bacon too. If I donāt have something like that cheese on toast is my preference for vegetable soups.
