I have no sympathy, I’ve met a fair number of “locals” over the years. The vast majority were transplants after the location became a tourist destination. And happily take tourist money. They bitch about the crowds but still take that money…

Very empirical observation. You should write a paper about the study based on the vast amount of data points you seen to have gathered with quantitative and qualitative evaluation and questionnaires.

So still no facts or actual responses about the specific points I made. You might regard them as wrong and they might just be that.
