Truth. This is sadly something you learn after landing your first job, not before.
My eye opening moment was seeing the technical guy at the interview light up when I said I’m open to learning their domain knowledge. I didn’t have a degree, but I made up for it by showing interest in the field by doing my own projects, as a hobby. I was the only guy in the department without a degree for a long time.

a lot of applicants have idea what your job involves skillwise. company names dont always give a hint, and unless youre a huge conglomerate youre media footprint is minicule at best.

unless it’s like written in the job description, which it almost always is.
but it’s true that many candidates, can’t frickin’ read, or don’t bother to.
