I don’t envy anyone trying to break into the games industry right now - you graduated at exactly the time all the investment left, layoffs hit, and jobs dried up.
It’s hard enough trying to find positions right now if you have years of experience, let alone as a fresh grad with none.

Me in game dev school right now 🥲 Fortunately I have previous experience and while I’m studying for design I’ve already been a programmer for a number of years. I’ll make it but yeah… Applying for jobs won’t get me anywhere I’m gonna have to know a guy who knows a guy

Ain’t that the truth. I’ve worked in games for about 15 years and almost every job I’ve had has been because I knew someone at that company already.
Not saying regular applications without a referral never work, but the odds against you are astronomical.

You all happen to have an open position?

Fortunately, the indie scene is still booming. If you went into games because you love it, you still have a fair shot at making something you want and finding an audience.

Was ever gaming industry the place to be?
It always seemed that the big companies kept fucking everyone over, not just the devs.
