ClamDrinker@lemmy.world 4 days agoWhile it’s good to empathize with people receiving death threats, I would caution against it when the person claiming death threats is not doing so in good faith. That entire statement is directly followed up by implying that db0 is systematically sending people death threats, which is a massive accusation without providing any evidence for that. Which sadly means, acknowledging the threats means implicitly accepting that premise. It’s a loaded question, and a common tactic by cornered scumbags to silence criticism.
Louis Rossmann made a great video on it. So you’ve been accussed of “death threats” - how do you respond?

On the point of the Tessaract dev AdmiralPatrick accusing db0 of death threats … they might be confusing this with the April drama we had this year on Lemmy, see this comment and post which summarizes things.
Basically, an admin on anarchist nexus (AN) changed their name to “Murder all Zionists” which MrKaplan, a lemmy world (LW) admin, understood as a death threat and caused LW to defederate AN without discussing this issue with other LW admins or announcing the defederation. Db0 seems to have some kind of alliance with AN and sided with them, hence I guess AdmiralPatrick interpreted this as db0 siding with death threats lol

Getting upset because of the transitive property from a single mod’s user handle on anarchist.nexus is not db0 “systematically sending death threats”, though. Extraordinary accusations require extraordinary evidence.
