Recently I added the functionality to follow other people to PieFed (not just join communities, as before). This brings Mastodon content into the main feed mixed in with content from Lemmy.
It’s still a work in progress but I’m aiming to create what you’re asking for here.

There was some drama recently relating to hism deciding to make instance block content creators from engaging too much. Probably related to that.
PugJesus talks about it, before signing off for good.

Yeah, both. Like in Mastodon where there is a home timeline showing stuff from people you follow AND a feed containing everything your instance has received.
