No clue, I know of Sesame Street only from occasional memes. I always thought it all one and the same, since it’s all puppets.

FudgyMcTubbs@lemmy.world 5 days agoDo we not separate Muppets muppets from Sesame Street muppets? The only Muppets muppets you mentioned were Kermit and Miss Piggy. Also the yellow bird from Sesame Street is Big Bird.
The Muppets muppets were more of an 80s thing, and then they spawned movies. Kermit, Miss Piggy, swedish chef, fozzie bear, animal and so on are Muppets muppets.

They’re all one thing. Kermit used to show up on Sesame Street as a newscaster. And Big Bird shows up in the Muppet Movie from the 70s. Jim Henson and Frank Oz did both.
