Iāve got a cousin moving to Australia in a couple of weeks. Itāll be the first family member Iāve seen since I was in high school.
Kind of exciting, but also nervous.

this is awesome š
and also the first time they have seen you in ages and they are moving too, they must be excited and nervous too
Totally. They need help getting settled so I donāt mind helping.

As someone who has relatives in other countries that I barely know, I would say donāt put too much pressure on it. If you click well and become friends thatās really awesome. But if you havenāt had contact for a long time (or ever?), look at it like meeting a stranger. Not everyone will be compatible and if you donāt feel a connection thatās ok too.

Thatās good advice.
I donāt want to get too close too quickly just for the sake of it.
Heās from my mums side of the family, and they were kinda dicks after she passed away.
