The disk isn’t completely useless. It’s a physical license key that is transferable and resellable. I was fully planning to purchase a used console to play GTA 6 with a physical disk, then sell both when it came out on PC. That’s still my best plan I guess.
Comment on Poll: Will you buy GTA 6 when it launches on your platform?

So at this point it became a useless piece of plastic anyway.
If it was like on GoG it would at least make sense.

Fair. But you know what? They are rumored to come at a later date.
Take2 felt the gamers wrath and now they’ll prey on the FOMO-players that will go out of their way to buy the game day one.
And the patient gamers can buy the CD.vice.com/…/rockstar-games-responds-to-gta-6-physi…
BUT: Take it with a rock of salt. We’ll see.

Yeah, when I said that’s still my best plan, that’s what I was referring to. Currently in the wait and see phase. I really would like to play on launch, but I might be able to wait a month…

Same boat.
Im ready or the big version (on pc) but I’ll wait to see what is included in standard and if it justifies the additional €€€

In GTA 5, that depends in the hardware. For Playstation and XBox, the disc was enough. No code activation required.
Do they change that, too?
