This actually follows with facial rashes and the like too. The Scandinavians discovered this when they were exploring their far north a long time ago, being clean shaven leads to less problems with your skin on your face.

BooBees@fedinsfw.app 1 day agoInterestingly (to me, because I’m a science nerd) studies showed just after those gator masks started showing up that anything that touches your mouth and has holes bigger than pathogens you’re trying to filter out make you MORE prone to catching the pathogen compared to just not having it, because the moisture from your breath collects on the fabric and that moisture collects the pathogens and then encourages infection as it holds it near or on your mucosal membranes and oral cavity. So I’d suspect the same applies to a mustache that hangs over your mouth.

Masks worked. Real masks produced by medical professional organizations. Masks were not moot. Stretchy pantyhose with skulls and American flags worn to own the libs were moot, and worse, made people sick. Real masks conferred some protection to both the wearer and more importantly the masses from people who actively shedding virus, both obvious and non obviously in those who were asymptomatic. It’s way more likely you actually did catch it and were asymptomatic rather than never caught it. You’d have to take very specific antibody tests to know for sure you never caught it, and if you hadn’t, there’s a very small and very important study looking for people who have never caught it because they would be a medical anomaly that needs to be studied to potentially save the lives of tens of millions to billions of lives in the future.

N-95 masks block 90%. When two people are both wearing them the odds of contracting the virus are very much lower.
Importantly, it also reduces your viral load, the bigger the dose you get upfront, the more likely you are to get a severe case, as the virus can multiply farther before the body has a chance to mount an immune response.
Ie the chinese doctor that identified covid as a new virus, himself died after receiving massive doses in treating patients, despite being in his 30s and healthy.

Yep. All backed by MASSIVE studies, so it’s not really debatable. I mean you could debate it, but you’d look like a scientifically illiterate moron.

Are your perceiving important information being relayed in order to make sure various readers don’t become dangerously misinformed as unchill? Because being correct and helpful is very chill.

Mine's like mourinho wool though, it has all sorts of natural oils and ecosystemic stuff that either dissuades the virus, or causes it to hang out and party.
More seriously i thought the masks were not to protect the wearer but to protect others from their breath. That's why selfish fuck holes didn't want to wear them. If it protected them they might have considered it more carefully.

The craziest part was they were actively killing their family members, especially their parents, and contracting long covid in many cases, which gives you literal brain damage and quite often produced diabetes where there was none before. Like good job, asshat, you played yourself while you made some political stance that didn’t change your life for the better even an ounce.

Masks also protect the wearer.
