    Israel explicitly controls access to citizenship with the publicly stated goal of keeping the control of the country based on ethnicity.

      Yes, it’s an ethnostate. And though it may surprise some, they rarely have much to do with the ethnicity in question. Plenty is Israelis hate (non-Zionist) Jews (because they’re not “the right kind” of Jew; they’re “the weak Jew”)

      In a very semantic sense, sure.

      Think of the phrase “America is controlled by white people”

      Does that put an image in your head of “the people who control America happen to be white” or “white people, in aggregate run America for the collective benefit of white people”?

      People will use the phrase in both ways, but these are very different ideas.

      Yeah I would probably say what OP meant was a distance between controlled by Jews vs the Jews.
