placement reflections
Classes went very shit today. I am sad. I could see a student look at me dejectedly and with terror because of the utter chaos. Chemicals and pre-pubescent boys don’t mix well. I almost had a shut-down which carried into my next class. Lack of sleep, loud noise and no food don’t mix well. A lot of it was a me issue which I am reflecting on how to do better.
Part of me wants to just give up but a small voice is telling me that I need to do better and is up for the challenge. I’m just going to finish this course and see how I go. Teaching is challenging and will help me learn to use my words better.
I think I would prefer something one to one. Or ditch the people aspect altogether and do something in an office. They get paid more sometimes and don’t have kids refusing to do work even if you sit with them and try to help.

Hey, I loath teaching in a group sense. One or two at a time is a totally different thing. It’s more of a conversation, so much more adaptable, and none of that being stared at bullshit.
