The lack of upvotes is likely because it was repeatedly posted. Try posting to no more than two well chosen communities at a time and see how that goes.

Because the Fediverse is tiny like old school internet. We’re measured in thousands of concurrent users rather than millions.

That’s not how the fediverse works, posts don’t get “promoted”. The standard is usually chronological sorting, because there aren’t quite enough posts to make sorting by popularity productive for longer sessions of scrolling.
