Itâs great to hear you donât have to be the only one looking after him. You can just enjoy a cat visitor instead

The black cat returned a few days ago after a few weeks of not seeing him and heâs looking a lot healthier. The bald patches are gone so hopefully heâs been treated, the fur is starting to grow back a bit under his chin so maybe theyâre using the spot ons, and the fur on his body is thick and shiny so looks like theyâve been giving him the higher quality food I left them.
I got three tail hugs in the 20 minutes I spent fussing him. But he hissed and whopped me for touching his upper back. Fingers crossed this new soreness means he got vaccinated or even a new microchip (because heâd been scanning as âno tagâ). Maybe that explains the limp he had.
He was asking to be fed and to be let inside but Iâve told him the food is at home with his owners, and that he canât go in. I also showered and washed my clothes after just in case.
Itâs a relief to not be fully responsible for him and see signs that heâs okay. Iâll pat him when I see him but will probably continue to focus on myself getting rest and sleep because I am knackered.

Itâs a weight off my mind. I was so stressed when it seemed like he was abandoned or being neglected.

Great news. Hopefully itâs one less mental burden too.
