You should shower twice a day at least. Once in the morning to wash of the stink of the night, and before bed to wash off the stink of the day.
It’s really not a binary choice.

That’s really bad for your skin and the recommendation I remember hearing is every 2nd day to preserve your skins horny layer

You know, that might be fair. It’s never been a problem for me, but I do know my wife’s skin doesn’t when she showers too much. (Something she brought up, when I was making jokes about how Lemmings hate showers due to the downvotes).
Guess I just repeated what worked for me as a fact without really thinking it through, my bad lol. I appreciate you sourcing your argument, though. +1.
