If you haven’t played it, it’s a good game. Worth giving a try at least.

MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 3 weeks agoIronically i thought about trying dark souls yesterday, but went “Well, i already have so much. I don’t want another game on my plate”.
I have thought about sharing the pictures i take, maybe not a daily thing like this but i’d love to share it on whatever the local photography community is. At the very least it’d be a good way to refine my skills. I’m getting too the point with photography i’d like to start offering it as a service in my local area and maybe make some sort of income (Though, knowing me quite a bit of it will just go to buying games)

I think the main thing putting me off is how everyone talks about the difficulty. I once tried Elden Ring and got my ass handed to me by this boss right at the start, so I’m not too confident in my souls like abilities.
I might pick up the remake on sale though and try it since you suggest it though

I think the difficulty is overrated, which is not to say it’s an easy game, but you just have to be more deliberate with your actions. Instead of just mashing buttons, you have to be mindful of enemy’s actions and keep your stamina in mind.
Of course, no guarantees that everyone will like it, but I think people shouldn’t skip it just because of it’s reputation of difficulty. For instance, I know people who have finished Dead Cells but never tried Dark Souls because of the difficulty, while I have finished Dark Souls, but was never able to beat even the first boss of Dead Cells 😀
In short, the game is difficult, but not that difficult, and worth at least trying it once.

I might try it at some point then. I know I’ve had some decentish luck with other souls likes (such as Jedi Fallen Order), and i know you well enough that i trust your opinion when you say it’s not that difficult. So i’ll probably keep an eye out for a sale or something, or even see if i can snag a copy for an older device.
