I’ll try that because I was really wanting to get some pictures in there. It’s such a cool segment

The first Alan Wake is a step into the pool for horror I feel like because I never really feel like it’s trying too hard to be scary. Like, any time an enemy shows up you get slow motion and the camera pans over to them. It feels like it’s trying to play scare you more with the stress of resource management rather than scare you shitless. Then again. I have some friends who are absolutely terrified of resource management in horror games

Remedy always nails those cool moments that stick with you I feel like. I mean, Alan Wake 1 had the Concert segment and the escape from the Lodge. Alan Wake 2 had the whole musical segment

If you want to get into it I think Control is the “getting on point” so to speak. I think it throwing words at you is part of the idea of stepping into this world that’s kind of wack.
The only game I think that’s playable before it is Alan Wake, and the game more makes subtle little nods to Alan Wake until the Alan Wake DLC.
Alan Wake 2 though makes the ties between Control and Alan Wake a lot more obvious. I’d argue you don’t really need to play Control though, just know the FBC is a group that deals with Paranatural events

I’ve always found them to be a bit short, that might just be my attachment to the media though. I’ve maybe got 8 Hours in this playthrough and i’m near the end of control so I may be going through it at a way too fast pace

House of Leaves and Twin Peaks have long been on my list of things to read/watch because of this game and Alan Wake. I really should get around to it one day

I think i did that one when i first played it! I don’t remember Ahti but i do remember the TV and somehow that mission being a little unsettling to me

I think quite a lot of it is in reference to the first Alan Wake game. Namely a page makes mention of Alan collecting Coffee Thermoses. The Thermoses were a completely optional collectable from the first game. Irc there were about 100 in the game you could find. it makes me wonder though how much of Alan Wake 2 was cemented by this point in time

I appreciate SCP for what it gave to this franchise. But it is just not for me, especially for how comical it can get at times. Not to mock it or anything or put it down, but it’s simply a different breed than what i am into

I legit LOVE Alan Wake 2. Playing control has made me want to go in for another playthrough. The only thing stopping me is that i have a huge backlog right now and it takes up so much space

From what i gather you’re talking about AI. Might you be on the wrong thread? This is about the game Control

Damn, i’m a bit disappointed in myself for not figuring out you could get across without it. I love pulling stuff like that. To be honest the idea you could stack things didn’t even occur to me. That’s something i’ll have to try later

I’ll start with chickens then first. The cows being able to fight back definitely threw a wrench in the works

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I think Innocently has been the only way I’m playing. I always just end up wandering around and messing with things while listening to the soundtrack. It’s honestly become a “cozy” game for me. If it wasn’t for the price being so steep I might have just bought a year of the Membership too

I love the first Alan Wake. But I will agree Alan Wake 2 blows it out of the water in almost every way

They really killed it both with Rasterization and RT implementation. I know i was touting RT here but my very first playthrough was all raster and it was all really gorgeous too. My only complaint is some surfaces were really grainy weirdly enough. I saw some people saying it’s because the game was designed with RT in mind but I’m not sure

I struggled a lot on my first playthrough. I think at some point i Outclassed the games difficulty though by messing around with side stuff as the second half of the story was a pretty easy cake walk

Ahti legit is probably one of my favorite Remedy Characters next to Alan Wake and Max Payne. Jesse is up there too but Ahti wedges her out of the 3rd place spot with just how charming he is

On the subject of “different ideas”, i was thinking to myself that a L.A. Noire style game where you’re out in the field would be amazing.
As for resonant, I’m not sure yet whether I’ll play it. From what I know it’s a Hack and Slash which I’m really picky about. If I do check it out though I’ll spoiler plot details, especially major ones. I’d like to avoid a repeat of what happened with The Last of Us Part 2.

One day I’d love to Raytrace this and Alan Wake 2 on Max Settings and (preferably) without any FSR or TAA. It’s a dream come true. Computer Processing power probably isn’t there quite yet but maybe one day

I’m not sure if it was intentional or not by the developers but it’s a lovely sight nonetheless. I suppose intent doesn’t matter though as art is what you make of it

Damn. I actually had a screenshot saved that I was going to use to talk about Poets of The Fall and their work in the game, and then use that to lead into talking about the OST but forget it

The aim is definitely a weak point. This is my second playthrough and I still struggle with it

Damn, oh well. I can live without it. If anything it gives me an excuse to come back too it whenever I finally replace my GPU

I’m worried about the new CEO because Remedy is the first game studio in a long time that makes games that i feel like get me. They hit all the right beats. I’m trying to be optimistic about it but damn it’s hard lately

I loved that place in my first playthrough. I’m excited to get there purely so i can take some photos
