I’d love for just any game with a scale that large. I think it’d be awesome

The subway in the first game is iconic too me. I still remember the layout in my head and think about it from time to time

It’s rare for me to replay games too. Ever since i’ve started doing these screenshots though i’ve started going back and replaying a few things. It’s really changed the way i play games

I saw! i heard Remedy is being involved in it (and based on some photos i’ve seen i think they’re heading it) so my hopes are high

There’s some parts where i forget that it’s PS2 era. It really feels like something from the next gen. It’s surreal

Their work is awesome. I want to see them live. I was actually just listening to them on the way to class today.
Remedy sticking with them is something I love. Something about their work feels like authentic. I don’t mean it as a jab to songs made for video games, but a lot of the time songs made for video games have this “feel” where you can tell “yep. That’s tied to a specific game”. Something about PoTF’s work though feels like it’s an actual album

It’s Max Payne 2! It’s a bit old so you may have seen it before online (or maybe even played it yourself)

They’re up there as some of my favorites. Ever since I played them last year I’ve been wanting to play them yearly

It really is. I’ve been keeping an eye out for games that come close but really there aren’t a lot which is a shame

- Comment on What are your favorite games from a worldbuilding standpoint? 2 days ago:
Alan Wake. And on a grander scope almost all of Remedy’s stuff. They put everything together where it feels like there’s more out there. There’s no seam in the metaphorical stitching. It feels like even when you reach the end of something there is more.
From less of a deep standpoint? The 3DS fire emblem games. They do some really cool stuff that connects them together.

I wouldn’t say it’s a “different” game, but I play a lot with friends and they like to bounce around or try new things (and I tend to get distracted by other games too).
Sometimes you’ll notice me get really hooked on a game and play that for like a week straight. I think Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Silent Hill f were the last single player games I got hooked on like that. I tried to get into Resident Evil 2 during October too but something about it I couldn’t get into at the time. Maybe some other time.

Halo 5, ultimately feels like more 4 to me, so I’d say you’re not missing much besides the lore. But yeah, the design is really the worst part here.
Now that you mention the bright colors and standout interactive pieces of the earlier games, that’s definitely the difference I’m noticing between these. Like with the shutter door I mentioned. It really does not look like you can smash through it or interact with it in anyway.

I almost considered referencing you when I mentioned that, but I know some people aren’t cool with that.
Thanks for the source too. I was thinking to myself last night “I should look for a source for this” but decided to put it off for today lol.
Hiring people who hate the franchise seems like a horrible move. I suppose I can see what the idea was, but I still can’t believe nobody higher up thought “wow. This seems like a horrible idea. Why are we doing this?”

This one was fun with friends. I saw a YouTuber a few years ago play one that also looked interesting but I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called.
I wouldn’t mind one of these that looks like it’s going to pan out to be a horror game but then just is a regular Late Shift game

I’m a college student currently living with his parents and i don’t work, and I planned my courses really well. Like right now I only have classes 3/7 days a week. So the result is just a lot of free time on my hand. And I’ve always been kind of diligent about personal chores (or found ways to be efficient about them)
So outside of class time, I really only spend my time studying, playing games, and hanging out with friends. It’s really a situation I’m lucky (and thankful to have)

I wish i had grown up on Halo, having played most of the games now. When i was first starting to get into gaming Halo 3 had just released and i tried it and wrote it off as just a Sci-fi multiplayer shooter. I was young, but damn. I didn’t know what i was missing out on. I had no idea about the Flood and the entire campaign. It took a while for me to realize the Flood was A actual enemy, and not some name for Zombies in the Infection mood.

I can see this reflected in the game for sure. It feels very COD-esque. The sprint always being an option is definitely the stand out example of this, but there’s also how much faster it feels in general. Along with the AR feeling more precise

It’s like things can start suddenly going catastrophically wrong so quickly despite being calm. It almost ironically mimics the ocean. It’s getting a sequel which is exciting.

Yeah, there’s a bit of swimming. I’ve never had to leave the shallows really for loot, but you still have to dive for them. And if your boat gets knocked over while heading over to another island, you’ll have to flip it and clamber back on.
My friend I play with is the same way. He’s terrified of the deep ocean so i usually handle the water based stuff (I’m in the opposite boat, I love the ocean)

I’m in the sort of opposite boat. Subnautica is in my backlog. I heard the second one was going to have multiplayer (which was a big thing I was wanting in the first one), so I was just going to wait for that since I’m not big on the story. After all the stuff I’ve heard though I’m hesitant

Me and my friend have done a Christmas special each year for the last 2 years (We give ourselves the goal of getting a Christmas tree and cooking Christmas dinner). So the Christmas special idea does work
