I’m not sure if you are being sarcastic, but democracy and capitalism are fundamentally incompatible. “Equal capitalism” is an oxymoron.

O.K. call me super nieve but and I mean a HUGE BUT, what if it became an actual working democracy? I know it sounds absolutely coo coo insane-o-style but a democracy with rules for the almost but not quite equal capitalism we once had. A regulated capitalism that doesn’t squash indevidual , independent voice. Or smother it with Hush money.

They said “almost” and would be accurate in that sense of using the same means just applied, explosives, to reach the speed of light, as material.

iran was a democracy prior to the SHAH which was installed by the UK/US. the islamic revolution /current regime is more or less US’s fault.

How does “bombing back to the stone ages” help establish a democracy?
That IS super nieve.

Yes, the US will bomb them into a functional democracy.

Such ideal popular democracies generally need a culture conducive to those. Not all cultures favor democratic politics.

You are probably not aware that in the 1950 they were on a good way and the usa and britain overthrew their elected government and installed the radical regime because democratic Iran wanted to sell their oil by themselves? (Very shortend version, please search for details and nuances by yourself)
balian@lemmy.libertarianfellowship.org 5 weeks ago
This implies that the radical regime somehow was more conducive to US interests and did not in turn want to “sell their oil by themselves” too, which is… doubtful. Had that been the case things would have turned out differently.
