  Not sure if that was supposed to be sarcasm, but cyber campaigns are a huge part of the “hybrid war against the west” that putin loves to boast about so much, and there have been plenty of proven instances of astroturfing being done by russian trolls.

  It’s pretty common on reddit (r/conservative mods are based in russia, and there was even a time when a power outage in St. Petersburg caused a bunch of troll accounts to go dormant for half a day), but I’d be surprised if they haven’t found lemmy yet.

      Are you stupid? Russia literally and unnecessarily staged a military invasion of a neighboring sovereign country resulting in a war that has been ongoing for four years now.

      Moscow hasn’t been bombed enough, and certainly not as much as Russia has bombed Kyiv. Comparing this to confederate spins on the american civil war is as asinine as it is inane.

      And not only are you completely wrong, its also a red herring, because “hybrid warfare” isn’t about the kinetic operations. It’s about geopolitical influence, meddling, psyops, propaganda, and cyberwarfare. Hence the term “hybrid.” But you clearly didn’t know that.

      I’m not really surprised to be receiving this drivel from you though, as I’ve had you tagged as a vatnik for quite some time now. Go back to licking kremlin boots before they all get turned into hamburger meat in someone else’s backyard.
