IIRC, this is from the worst case scenario survival handbook, but has been edited. This is a method of fishing, and you’re supposed to hook the gills like that.

It’s not that different than the way some people hunt bottom feeding fish like catfish, I guess it’s the same if you’re just bad at the catching part

Apparently it’s mostly the small ones to watch out for. Don’t hold a baby catfish.
