I work outdoors, often in remote locations. Phrases I have used:
Make friends with a tree.
Speak with a tree/have a conversation with a tree.
Commune with the bushes.
Wander over this way alone.
My field partner often speaks of watering or fertilizing the forest, which I find distasteful because it gives a sense of which act they’re performing and I really don’t need to know that about my boss.
And wow yes, I hate it when someone says “I’m going to pee/piss” or “I need to take a shit”. Like just say you’re going to the bathroom, or, you know, voiding (jk) like a normal person.
