captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 day agoYeah that’s not good. The good therapists I’ve had definitely had some crazy that was visible below the surface and I could tell when I hit on something that they worry about, but they kept it under control and never made my session about themselves.

It’s not that they really make it about themselves, they just validate my feelings by confirming they too have feelings about all of everything that is awful. It helps me feel better and less alone so it works for me. Different strokes and all.
