Comment on What if POOLS and SEVERANCE had a baby? IGN just posted my indie game trailer : )
Road_Warrior_10@lemmy.world 7 hours agoThank you for the kind words. I always had an idea for a game about Milgram and ethical dilemmas. I remember being on a set for a movie with a lot of time between takes and thinking about the script. That was 2-3 years ago. I started serious work this summer with the script and made the demo in 4 months. Around 30% of the game is done. The main inspiration is the book Obedience to Authority by Milgram himself and some videos by Alex O’Connor where he talks about morality and moral dilemmas. For the actual cases in the game I researched some real world horrible people and decided to borrow parts of their life. Of course names and details have been changed so they won’t sue lol

Thank you! Yeah, once you get the basic concept and prototype right, after that it’s a bit easier. After the demo is out I’m back to work on the full game : )

I’m curious, is there any incentive to play along? I’ve played games that make you choose between two rough decisions, but you’re stuck choosing. If you just choose not to, the game stalls and there’s no outside influence other than your boredom to get you to continue. Does this game have something forcing your character?

I’m not sure I understand the question, but you get different ending, depending on the choices you make (or refuse to make).
