I mean it’s pretty cool but is the “so proud” due to some effort that was put into it? I thought it was inevitable and an “about time “ is more appropriate.

They’re proud that they managed to keep the child alive long enough for this to happen.

But seriously, losing teeth can be scary and painful for children. The parent can be proud their child was mature enough to make it through the process without any/too much crying.
