Melbcat has had a very thorough checkup and they say the crying is behavioural due to getting older, it’s not likely to be pain. Which is a relief. Options will be explored to keep her more comfortable physically and mentally.

I find out about the other stuff when they call back

    Unless your neck can’t cope with it, no such thing. Both the last pair I lost found comfort being held in a sling toward the end.
