37 percent of Americans are irredeemably stupid. I see that number over and over for the stupidest shit.

that doesnât seem related but it sure is interesting that itâs the same number
y0kai@anarchist.nexus â¨15⊠â¨hours⊠ago
yeah, youâre right. I just remembered the 37% thing and felt compelled to share.
37 is also a common number used by âmagiciansâ to when they try to guess the ârandom numberâ youâre thinking of because for some reason related to psychology, we think it is âmore randomâ than other numbers between 1 and 100, on average. I donât have the energy to cite this one right now tho lol
lime@feddit.nu â¨15⊠â¨hours⊠ago
it is a very random number. itâs also a very large small number.
ZMoney@lemmy.world â¨12⊠â¨hours⊠ago
Hereâs a great exposition on 37.

I always pick 1 when asked to try to balance it out.

I was just going to say that. I think in every country 36 or 37% will just believe random crazy shit and/or be fucking with the poll taker.
devolution@lemmy.world â¨9⊠â¨hours⊠ago
But not in every county are the majority of the lawmakers from that sample size.
