Soviets didn’t do much to help China fight off the imperialists from Japan. The US did.

Then Soviets try to coerce China to join the USSR as essentially a puppet state, used nuclear weapons as a threat to extort resources as “repayment” for the “help” they gave in WW2. Good thing China got the nuke, otherwise Soviets would’ve invaded.

It’s called “propaganda”. And they’re not wrong in that that was the image the USA projected and a lot of the Western world bought - regardless of the merit behind the image.
