Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 10 months agoIf you’re serious, I think you’re mistaken who’s making the statement. I’ve had conversations with humanity majors who made comments about mushrooms being plants despite the obvious fact that they don’t photosynthesize. Never mind that they breath oxygen in and release co2.

Mushrooms were plants until the 70s, maybe they just had outdated textbooks in school.

Maybe. He’s old enough, but he also get a lot of his “science” from old scifi novels.
