I hadn’t thought of tearing down the stairs, it’s a good idea. We had gotten a sledge hammer we found on the side of the road on the way there so maybe we’ll give it a try

Ah, the Rosewood Fire Department, my old friend. Tear down the stairs, throw some sheet ropes out the window, build a door to the roof to set up a farm and some water barrels above the sinks and you’ve got yourself a little slice of heaven.

Once you build a door to the roof you can build a covered lounge and dirt plots, that way you can read outside while you watch tv to level skills and avoid boredom all while not even having to consider zeds. You can also toss the generator on the roof outside to cover the whole building. Build a floor before you step onto the roof, though, or you’ll fall through, everything along the wall needs a floor built on it even though there are roof textures there. I live that spot.

Everyone gangsta until Indie Stone releases the update where zeds learn how to climb ropes

That would be pretty awesome, I think. You’d have to pull up your rope ladder every time and remember to drop it down when you leave. I’d probably die more to auto-defenestration because I forgot to drop the sheet rope than zeds.
