I was not aware of any speech recognition tools that I have used that did not use machine learning. It’s been around for quite some time (>20 years). The Wikipedia page lists some systems from before the 1980s that didn’t use machine learning though I’m unsure whether those were ever used.

Im driving and you shouldn’t check your phone whilst driving? Easy to use voice to text to reply to people.
My phones doesn’t even deliver texts whilst driving unless coming through car play.

My dude, you shouldn’t absolutely interact with your phone while driving, speech to text included. tweet can absolutely wait. Text can absolutely wait. If urgent, pull aside and do your text or phone call if absolutely urgent.
