teft@piefed.social 3 weeks agoNow this would depend on you having the cash available to do this but couldn’t you just buy a refundable plane or bus ticket? That way you’d have an outbound ticket but could refund it later if you get a visa extension or visa reclassification.

Again, the moment I found out about this rule was when was trying to check in. I figured that I’d visit indefinitely, try to get a job, and my job could assist me in getting citizenship. So yeah, I could have done that, if I knew it was required. It’ usually how visa overstays work, so people do game the system from time to time.
Turns out this place is very based… kinda. Visa free visits for 90 days, if you need to stay longer you just do a day trip to a neighboring country. You can just get a job with no problems, and THEN apply for residency, at which point you CAN’T leave without a return certificate.
So no need to do that kinda stuff.
