The appliance can be used as a crockpot too. Just bring everything up to temp before putting it in the rice cooker, then set on keep warm for however long you need. Does great stews and pot roasts. I have done persian rice in a rice cooker and it came out great. I have been told (but havenât tried) that a rice cooker does great fruit cakes too if you like fruit cakes.
