People keep saying they’re dangerous but I ride one all the time. I really wish they were as well studied as bikes, where I know the helmet doesn’t help that much when you’re hit in a collision.

A scooter’s wheels have a much smaller diameter, so they’re much more susceptible to rocks and bumps than a bike.

They are also unstable without steering input, unlike bicycles, which makes them way more dangerous. I’d like to see the research.

I guess a point in the scooter’s favor is that you can jump off more easily.

And bicycle helmets are not rated for the speed e scooters can go. You want a full face motorcycle helmet and motorcycle gloves.

I see so many teenagers screaming down the road at 40mph with no helmet and I clench up. It’s stressful.
