got bought by a new company who just wanted the image repo for AI training and are consequently banning and firing everyone and ploughing it into the ground.

Imgur was bought by a company called Medialab ai, who sacked all the mods and tech support staff and pumped the site with ads. Some classic and old Imgurians accounts were banned. Posts were arbitrarily removed (ai mods now). Secret Santa was abolished. All NSFW uploads were removed by Medialab to make it more attractive to advertisers. They aren’t accepting uploads from accounts which are Ukrainian. Some Imgurians are rebelling against the enshittification, others are just leaving and looking for similar sites elsewhere. There isn’t anything quite like Imgur tho.
