grysbok@lemmy.sdf.org 5 days agoThe second. John 3:16 is a very popular verse in the Baptist crowd I grew up around in the 90s. I don’t think it’s any more a fascist dog whistle than a Jesus fish. YMMV on how christofascist that is.
Like, I never went to church and it’s ingrained in my brain from my classmates and reading bumper stickers.
