Hey look, the name of the game and a direct link to its steam page.

I tried going back to it on pc recently and was met with a pretty janky experience. GoG and Steam versions. I ended up emulating the PS2 version with some upscaling and it was great. There’s community texture packs and widescreen patches as well if you have the hardware to run them (low bar fwiw, I had success with an anbernic android device and a few mods as an example).
- Comment on PC game recommendation for my partner and I 1 week ago:
Portal 2 was my first thought as well. It can also work as a good litmus test for how they will respond to FPS controls. You can try kb/m or controller and see what feels natural. My partner (we found playing left4dead after portal) is an inverted controller person. Which was wild to me considering they worked in a heavy clerical field and really took to building keyboard with me. Yet, no kb/m for gaming. After that switch , they were able to enjoy co-op 1st person stuff a lot easier.
After portal we played borderlands 2 together. It’s low pressure most of the time and can be a background activity while you talk and hang out. The story is kinda cheesy but it’s fun to share the inside jokes with someone and bonded us in an unexpected way.
Hopefully those work for you!

Microsoft really shit the bed. And then continued to do so. This makes me happy.

Are you talking about Lumo or is there another way to access their models?

Thanks for the kind response. I feel the downvotes are somewhat justified, I was engaging in a little bit of classic trolling. I have worked in tech-support long enough to have been sent and referenced several xkcd comics.
And unfortunately, not throwing a /s On my initial comment led to it whooshing right past a fair number of people apparently
Cheers friend! Have a great day.

How are people in a gaming community on lemmy unaware of what this is? These comments are ridiculous.

It will parallel the push to Windows365 in the enterprise space. Thinking in terms of hardware only misses the internal goal at Microsoft of locking everyone in to Azure hosted services where they have unlimited access to your data for CoPilot training.
THAT is their strategy. TPM requirements, kernel locking and secure boot are baby steps to the end goal. It’s not about Xbox, it’s about training data for their GenAI platforms.

They’ve already stated that intent last November. Everything is an Xbox

I’m not a MS fanboy (incredibly far from it) but your comment sparked a vision in my head of an immutable variant of LTSC/iot that function liked a Debian or arch base with vendors building x window (ha! it’s already there) interfaces too that were hardware or platform specific (e.g. here’s your Ubisoft skin, here’s your Epic Skin, etc…).
If only we lived in a tech utopia instead of… whatever the fuck the mba’s have spent the last few decades shitting out.
I hate having thoughts of utopia in an orphan crushing world.
