can also use vinegar at a half/half ratio and boil as well. Drop some bicarb down the kitchen sink, then follow with the mix, itâll boil out the drains

One thing I think I need to add to my list of Annual Tasks is descaling the kettle with citric acid then pouring the contents down the toilet. I think Iâll need drain cleaner to clear this thing out. Maybe a regular pouring of boiling water full of acid will get ahead of these blockages

Iâll try that in conjunction with everything else. The other drains are going down fine but it wonât hurt

donât put any corrosive chemicals down there, when the plumber needs to come theyâll hate you.

Thatâs a good tip because Iâm thinking we might need to call Poopknife Plumbing Services. Nothing is helping right now

Vinegar also works and I find the cleanup easier. There are descaling chemicals available at Colesworth for use in coffee machines etc. and these are frighteningly effective when used properly.

I have way too much descaling chemicals for my coffee machine so I could give that a go if the latest batch of drain cleaner doesnât work

I use cream of tartar.
