I’d say hearing his “music” is a worse way, but that’s subjective.

Honestly I think his music is mostly… Uninteresting. GoT however turns into such a disappointment that his appearance contributes to. Not because he specifically does much wrong, but because he’s shoved in there in a kind of unnatural way where it feels like we’re meant to say “look, it’s Ed Sheeran”!

That’s basically what played out. As i remember it when it happened, that was all because the actress that played Aria loved him, and they did it to please her.

I remember not knowing anything about it and then the FPS changed or the lighting and cinematography changed and I leaned over to my wife and said “celebrity appearance” and then…BAM a music video in the middle of the fucking episode

Yeah celebrity guest stars are weird. I remember when the Simpsons used to have a few episodes without any celebrity voices every once in awhile.
